I have picture frames without the piece on the back to put over the wall hook or nail. I think they call it the "loop." Many years ago I bought a stick-on or glue on piece with a metal ring or grammet. Can you help me?

Thanks,
Cherry

Cherry-you don't see much of the stick ons any more. They tend to dry up and let go in time. How heavy is your picture? If it's heavy use the the eye screws and wire. If it's light you can use the saw tooth brackets. You can find all that at Wal-mart. They are pretty cheap to. Hope this helps.

Cherry-Got your PM this morning. Glad you solved your hanging problem. My name came from Johnna, a cousin. Then they did the name song and came up with Shauna. I like it to, thanks!

You already have an answer, but I have heard of people using the rings off of pop cans to hang pictures. I haven't tried it though. I think it depends on how heavy your picture is. A girl I worked with used corsage pins to hang heavy mirrors in her house. I didn't want to try that. I don't need the bad luck.LOL j.

Hi sasgirl - thanks for the post. I will definitely try the coke can ring and see how it works. The pictures I am hanging are family photos, and therefore no bigger than an 11 x 14. I assume one glues the ring on the back of the picture...ya think?

I have a bunch of those fabric with the eyelet picture hangers. I decided to hang some of my antique family photos on the wall, and used the eyelet picture hangers. I didn't trust the glue, so I glued them on with some E6000 glue. I did NOT glue the corresponding hooks to the walls. I just used a pair of snips to cut off the hook part and used the eyelet on the back of the picture.

Most of my picture frames are the antique-looking metallic frames, so this was a good solution for me.

Thanks - that is a great tip which I will definitely use. Where did you purchase this item? My husband found a package of these at Home Depot that ended up costing about $.50 each. Did you find some cheaper?

Many Thanks,
Cherry

A friend of mine does a lot of plastic canvas items & she uses the pop can rings. they work perfectly, sewn onto the back, but there is no weight in plastic canvas hang up items.

Thanks Lilly2:

Good tip. I will start saving the pop tops. I found some foam sticky-back things at Hobby Lobby that stick to the back of the frame and have a plastic sawtooth extension to put on the nail. I hung four 11 x 14 portraits and they all fell down the next morning. The sticky-backs stayed on the nail. BUMMER!!
