Posted Feb 25, 2012 10:13 AM Thought I'd better let you know that I'm still here. My hips are still being a pain in the ***, but I'm getting a little done. I finished going through the clothes in my closet. Some are going to GW and some are going to DD to see if they are good enough for her to use for work.

In the mean time I had to get a new computer and I trying to figure out how to run it. It is so different from the old one. Nothing is where it used to be and the text is soooooooooooo small it gives me a head ache......but it works

Granny Quilts, good to hear you are doing a bit better.
The only thing I'm doing right now is going thru papers for the tax appt. next week.

I have 3 large bags of clothes and small items to give to the vn vets of america, I like that they will do a pick up at my house. Next is the craft room which is the guest bedroom, maybe when I get that cleaned out I will find the bed.

Hi Rainbow! Was just reading through the posts and decided to add mine. I've finally gotten to some of my house. It was hard with my broken leg to do anything so I fell way behind but am catching up now. Got my laundry done, my dusting and vacuuming all done, dishes and next I NEED to get in my craft room and get it straightened out. I thought once I had my own room everything would be great but it just seemed to show me how much stuff I really have and how I need to stop buying for awhile and start creating! But, once I finally do get it all done, hopefully the urge to craft again will return!
Mira's Mom - that letter is beautiful! How did you make that?

Hjvagar, It is one of those wooden letters and you clean and remove the membrane from the inside of egg shells. You paint the letter your chosen color (mine was Camel)then paint a thing coat of glue on the letter and smash the eggshells on it. After the glue is dry, you can smooth the edges with an emory board. Then your put drops of alcohol ink on the eggs shells and let dry. Then apply a thick coat of crystal effect all over it and let dry completely - I would put it where it can be left undisturbed at least overnight - maybe longer depending on how humid it is.

In the meantime, today my sister is here and we are going to work on albums for my dd and niece for the trip they took with my sister the year before last. If we make good progress, we should be able to mail my niece's album out by next weekend and I will have 2 boxes of supplies out of my stash.

Steph - hope you daughter is doing better.

Hi all. I haven't been on for a bit but I am still working on decluttering. DD cleaned out her room and agreed to do away with lots of toys and clothes that she doesn't use anymore. 3 of my employees have younger children so most everything has gone to a new home already. I spent this weekend decluttering and organizing dh's computer desk and a cabinet beside it. I have a box of stuff to donate and a bag of trash from it. My dining room looks so much better.

We also got dd's room painted and she has been redecorating. She has chosen a muted turquoise and lime green to go with her black and white bedding. She has been busy painting her 2 little tables and some wooden storage bins. So far letting her redecorate has only cost me about $100. That was for paint and a rug for her room. Pretty good for taking her room from a little girl's to a teenager's.

I believe my hub had to retaliate for my April fools trick and providing him with showers from the waterhose. He mussed up my organized spice collection. I had to rework this space. hehehe...This is not a bad thing. He's just soooooo frustrated with our kitchen. And is making every attempt to make me get on the bandwagon of getting it changed. Now, there's much more organizing I could accomplish...Just have to get to it. The "Clean Freaks" made me realize there's so much MORE I could do. Waiting for another cabinet to be built in the basement to get some of this completed. The question is: Preparing for a fishing trip/building a cabinet....which to do first? lol
Wiley, I'm making an EyeSpy baby quilt. My first one. I'm up to 38 patterns. How many would you recommend to finish it?

Hi all, spent my last day of spring break yesterday cleaning our deck of all the debris from the winter. DD helped and we filled a trash can. Then we organized what was left and swept the deck. After that we cleaned the table tops and called it good. Now we wait for dh to put his junk away. But it was so nice to sit on the swing on the deck and read for a few minutes when I got home from work!

Wow no one has posted since April 11th! Does this mean I am the only one that hasn't finished decluttering?

I have been so busy with work that I haven't done much. I did manage to declutter the yard a bit last weekend, while helping dh to put up our new gazebo. We still have to put the floor inside but it will be so nice to be outside and not contend with the mosquitos!

I am off to class this morning to make some more cards. Tomorrow I am taking one on making backgrounds for the cards.

wiley, I went into a fabric shop and one of the quilters said she had 107. I'm not that industrious, but I DID increase the number. I've had to recut and reassemble some of the strips. But...I'm thankful for mistakes because I have made improvements. One of my fav. squares...includes the state and town where the little one will be born. Woo hoo!
As for clutterbusters....what do you do with the fabric to store it for other quilts? I want it to look neat...but it takes up space. And on the unused bed....well, I just don't want it there! And....I would prefer not having to iron the fabric each time. Suggestions greatly appreciated.

Where is everybody? Hope all is well with everyone. I've been busy learning how to use a longarm, a friend of mine has one and I get to use it in exchange for taking care of her dog when she goes on vacation. I think I have the best of this deal, her dog is so sweet and no trouble at all.
Have also been cutting up bunches of jeans that are going to be sewn into sleeping bags for some of our homeless folks.

My DS is clearing out bunches of old records and paper stuff. He is having a company that comes to your house and shreds for you as you watch. So that inspired me to join him with all my old junk. All it does is sit in a closet in boxes when I could be using that space to store my batting.

Steph, I hope your DD's are on the mend. Keeping my finger's crossed for you.

Had a bunch of stuff hauled away to one of our charitable organization's. Will do the same again the first week of Sept. My DH will be out of town, he has a bad habit of poking thru stuff and putting it back in the garage even though it's not any of his stuff. So I have to take care of it when he's not around.

This keeps me going too. Would hate to think what my sewing room would look like if I didn't do my 15 minutes a day. I just told a friend of mine about decluttering and she decided to start doing 15 minutes a day. Just the thought of decluttering discouraged her but just doing 15 minutes a day makes it a lot easier to handle.

It has been very quiet lately. Maybe we can liven things up a little.

And I, for one has been guilty of not posting as I should.

For the past few weeks I have been compressing all my aquariums into one. That didn't take long but cleaning the calcium crust off the hoods and filters is a challenge.

Hi Wiley,

I had 4 tanks running. Once they are established, they're not that hard to keep up. I cleaned one every Monday. But now I thing I should be using that time to de-clutter else where in the house.

Hi all it has been a long time. Work has been insane this summer and I just haven't had time to drop by. Looks like no one else has been posting til just recently. I have done no decluttering but I am hoping to get back on track. I am off for a week after I go in for a couple of hours today.

I too hope that this hasn't come to an end. Reading what you all are up to keeps me going when I don't feel like decluttering.

Then I went thru a couple of closets, added clothes to the boxes, then did some cleaning in the garage. Monday is pickup day for all this stuff, maybe I'll continue on today and tomorrow and add to the pile!Big Grin:

There seem to be just 3 of us posting anymore.

My de-cluttering has been thrown into reverse. A week ago our bath tub drain sprung a leak and a pluming repair has turned into a MAJOR remodeling project. The old cast iron tub was pitched out in favor of a modern one. Hubby tore out 2 wall and replaced them with something more solid. Plus doing a little more wiring.
Of course we've run into problems every step of the way. After many trips to find connecters, adapters and reducers it's gradually coming together. In the meantime, it doesn't seem to matter how careful they are, everything is getting covered with saw dust and plaster dust.
My job will start when they're done.

Count your blessings, no matter how small they are.
