Have a real ugly tall black metal lamp pole with black cap at the end of the driveway among the pine trees. It is a halogen lamp and needed as we have no street lights. Thought I moght try to verdegris it to match the house lights and blend in with the tress a little better. Any thoughts. I thought , start by spray paining hole thing copper and then sea sponging shades of green on it. What color greens or any better ideas?

There are a lot of sites that give directions for this look. Main thing to be concerned with is that it is outdoors and subject to degrading UV light as well as possible ocean/salt air?

This is one of the simplest sites with suggestions,

but asking a paint store might be advisable for the longest lasting finish?
