Best suggestion I have for craft booths (assuming it is a fair...temporary set up) is if you have a lot of small items...try to have them displayed in a basket or rack, something you can have ready to take out of a box and set on the table. You might think you have plenty of time, but you can lose a lot of time trying to do that at the show. I have some very nice table top display racks I got from e-"pay", I have the crafts tagged/bagged and pre-hung on the display...then I put that into a box. Rubberbands and clothespins can help to keep things from sliding off in transport.

You can get really great canopies that are super easy to put up for $82 at Wal Mart everyday. I was in a bind when I bought mine but I love it!! It's wonderful!!
Portia, you have been approved there. It is not secretive at all. The admins must do the approval and since they both have other things going on in their lives it sometimes takes a bit of time.
On the Shows page at my site there are links to photos of various booths and display ideas, as well as lots of other ideas for them both, if you're interested: http://www.glassattic.com/polymer/shows.htm
I am considering doing this in the future with my beaded jewelry. Do you and others generally accept only cash at your booth? I wish you a lot of good luck...and hoping only good weather comes your way. I can't wait to hear how you make out.

Diane - thanks for the link to your site-I have it bookmarked for further reading... So much information - it should be a must-read for anyone wanting to sell at craft shows! In one article, I read about the gal who spent the entire time on her cell or reading - they drive me nuts!!! I use a tall stool to sit on so it is easy up for me when needed. I make small talk and exchange information with anyone who needs help - I sell the potato bags - if I ask if they know what they are and find that they have already bought one elsewhere, I offer them my recipe card for cooking corn on the cob in one - quite often, they will buy more from me for gifts to others...

I thought I would address money here. I of course take cash and I also take checks with ID. My items are not high end so I have only one person ask if I take credit cards. I don't see the need at this point to them. As far as cash reserve... I take $200 - $300 in ones and fives and tens - Usually don't need it, but I have occasionally had a need for it so I continue to bring it. I used to have a cash drawer, but had a fella try to get it once and now I carry my change in an apron - It helps two-fold... I don't have to look for my sales book and pen and I can take/give change from anywhere in my booth - I used to be nervous with my cash drawer - not now...
