Now that my son is out of school, I find that I have a drawer full of 3x5 index cards. What can I do with these? Any ideas? I have a 3 1/2 year old grandson; a project that he could do would be super!

Hi Sue, welcome to the boards. Glad you are here. How about letting him put an A on a card and then gluing a picture of an apple or ardvark (lol) or alligater and making an alphabet book. Tie or wire the cards together when he gets all the pictures glued on. Magazines would be great places to look for pictures. Or he could color and cut out from coloring books too. Or make a book of all his favorite cartoon characters...or sports. Wish I could think of something else, but I'll put my thinking cap on. Keep us posted. JeanThis message has been edited. Love my index cards for small notes. They fit right in my purse and don't get lost or crinkled. You can also tape small paint/fabric swatches to them. Easy to put in ziploc and take with you for matching decor items. ~Like sands through the hourglass ~So are the days of our lives

Beau's Rose: I used your idea the first year that I did the HGTV Block of the Month so I knew what fabrics I had for that year's block. Great minds think alike! Thanks.

Use a photo album for 3x5 photos to put the alphabet cards in. Or create a card with photos of friends and relatives and stick them in the photo album, like a year book. Use them as journalling cards also in the book, glue down tickets or other items to the card and write about it.
