Have you used polyester casting resin? I am trying to make a project for a class. I need to fill a Ball Jar with the casting resin. I made sure the jar I have is the kind used in canning - so it is heat resistant. I am just trying to figure out if I can pour the whole amount in or if I need to do it in stages. I am filling up either a 16 or 32 oz. jar. The jar will have polymer clay pieces in it. Can Anyone give me advice? Thanks a bunch, Jen

I've never worked with this before but I tried something similar with a clear solution - can't for the life of me remember what it was lol. All the pieces dropped slowly to the bottom of the jar I used so you might want to consider that and do it in stages. Also, with the stuff I used I had to try to get rid of bubbles. Pour very slowly to avoid them if you can. You may want to try suspending the clay pieces by something clear - like fishing line - at different heights. Not sure if it would show up in your project though. If it didn't or you didn't care if it did just use a couple pencils. Tie the line to them at different heights and sit them on the top of the jar so they drift down to the right height - but then again would they drift down through that stuff? lol Sorry wish I could be more help.

I did a google search for this product & you need to have a catalyst, too. I've never used it & it seems kind of complicated, but I wish you luck...hope it turns out well for you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I've decided to quit my job, drop out of society, and wear live animals as hats."
