Repairing a mobile Sign In/Join

Hi all! I bought a pretty brass Christmas mobile today at a garage sale. But it's broken (I knew it was when I bought it). I have no idea how to restring a mobile... but when I search online, all I get is information about mobile phones! LOL. Does anyone have any advice for stringing mobiles? It's 6 angles... all the same size. But the top part only had 3 holes. So I'm guessing I have to hang two angels together in each hole at different lengths. But what should I use? Fishing wire? How long to hang them? What's the best knots to use? Thanks!

I've both made and restrung mobiles and I've always used fishing line and just use double or triple knots depending on the weight of the piece that's going to hang.

If there are 6 angels and only 3 holes in the top base it would be my guess that you string one angel below another meaning that at least 3 of the angels should have holes both at the top and bottom. You don't want to put 2 strings in a single hole because they will become tangled.

The following page has lots of mobile ideas.

Thanks! I will check out the links you both posted. I really appreciate it. All 6 angels only have holes at the top. There is a hole in the middle of the piece to which they all hang from. So that's 4 holes total... and 6 angels!
