I'm new to this board. Today a crystal cut glass bowl I'm sentimental about got broken. I haven't looked to see if it's smashed to smithereens but I know it's not repairable.
Any suggestions for use in crafts or do I just close my eyes and chuck it?
There is always a way to use broken anything.
- get some quick crete from the home improvement store and using a pie tin (or any shaped tin you like) use the shards along with some marbles and other fun pieces to make a stepping stone for your garden. *Quik Crete can be colored with acrylic paint by mixing it in.
- Pieces can be sanded or tumbled to make jewelry.

You can use the crystal to make necklace. I think recycled stuff is good for making new things. Also you can use the broken crystal for decoration.
Indeed you can craft with the pieces. Any type of mosaic project is game such as....
FRAMING A MIRROR
SMALL TABLE TOP
GAZING GARDEN BALL
You can incorporate other pieces in your project if you choose such as....
SHELL PIECES OR MINI SHELLS
FAUX GEMS OR JEWELRY
FLAT BACKED PEARLS
YOU CAN INTERSPERSE THEM IN A MOSAIC BACKSPLASH.
