I saw the show for the first time tonight. I LOVE the show, star, team, transformations... All of it.
Yet, I cannot believe that the executives of HGTV agreed on "that" show name.
What message is being sent by this confusing name? Personally, I am offended by the show choice.
I'm curious as to how many others may have expressed concerns.
Disappointed in Pa.
She says in the openiong credits "Hi, my name is Nicole and I'm addicted to rehab." as a spoof on the classic AA meeting introduction directive. While I would agree that addiction is not a humorous condition, Nicole herself seems like a scrappy kind of gal who may have known a few misguided souls in her life. She seems like a supremely hard worker a great mom and a great daughter, so I would have to forgive her a little lack of decorum.
Her and the team she works with have a certain "rock n' roll" quality that I happen to like. Real down to earth, "this is what you get " kind of people. Even the perfectly plastic Martha Stewart went to jail, so TV personalities sometimes show a lack of judgement. They're not teachers or politicians so we shouldn't be looking up to them as pillars of virtue anyway.
If you're offended don't watch.
The title of this show does not offend me at all. I think the "I Hate My whatever" titles are worse than this.
