What ever happened to that show? It was really good?
There are so many older shows that are missed and you can rerun them instead of having so many House Hunters.

You are right, absolutely, and this is indeed something that we oldtimes have been complaining about for years.
HOWEVER, HGTV does NOT read these message boards and really couldn't give a flying flip what the viewers want/think/expect from them.
For the record, Designer's Challenge was one of my favorites because it did give a more realistic view of the design process - which is probably why it was doomed. HGTV wants everything to be all flash and instant gratification to suit the youngsters who have such short attention spans. A show like DC often required weeks to months - you cannot hire a design professional to tear out a master bath or kitchen (or rennovate any room, really)and have the work completed overnight. This requires camera crew time to come back and drives the expense up.
None of this matters - HGTV doesn't care and won't bring back any intelligent design programming on a regular basis.

Unfortunately, you're right, doodles. DC was terrific and we won't see anything like it, again.
