judihintonwhy the programs are disappointing
hello all, I just did some research and I can tell you that the reason programming now looks like it does is because hgtv (s cribbs) is trying to look good for wall street.
Ironically their profits are up 20% for their third quarter and the CEO is quoted as saying viewership is up 4% (i doubt it) they're not in the business of television programming. they are in the business of making money for traders.

Making money for their investors is or should be the primary business of all enterprises. If you don't make money, you can't pay employees, if you can't pay employees you can't have a business.
I too doubt that their viewership is up. There are just so many other channels available and other things to do for entertainment that the audience has become extremely fragmented. Their viewership may be up from the low, but it has to be way down from 10 years ago when there were fewer channels available.

judihintonthere is nothing wrong with making money, but when you make it by manipulating the money instead of running a business then you have a problem.
you don't see apple doing this ask yourself why?
they've grown their business by creating a product and developing a brand. these guys are venture capitalist wannabes
