hello all, I just did some research and I can tell you that the reason programming now looks like it does is because hgtv (s cribbs) is trying to look good for wall street. Ironically their profits are up 20% for their third quarter and the CEO is quoted as saying viewership is up 4% (i doubt it) they're not in the business of television programming. they are in the business of making money for traders.

Making money for their investors is or should be the primary business of all enterprises. If you don't make money, you can't pay employees, if you can't pay employees you can't have a business. I too doubt that their viewership is up. There are just so many other channels available and other things to do for entertainment that the audience has become extremely fragmented. Their viewership may be up from the low, but it has to be way down from 10 years ago when there were fewer channels available. General Disclaimer Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance. My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

there is nothing wrong with making money, but when you make it by manipulating the money instead of running a business then you have a problem. you don't see apple doing this ask yourself why? they've grown their business by creating a product and developing a brand. these guys are venture capitalist wannabes
