The white room challenge is back; that's a favorite of mine from Design Star. Last night's challenge was re-using salvaged items. Interesting uses of some items, but not a very wide variety of salvage-able material was available for the designers.

I watched this show last night and cannot believe I wasted an hour of my life. The prize went to the woman who hung some tatty old chairs in the air? Really? Don't believe I will watch this pretentious crap again, it was not an artful use of materials, IMHO.

No it was not artful, and I almost lost my mind when the judges were all over it as being so wonderful and a "work of art" That was it for me, I watch HGTV for the home design not the "art" of design and if the judges and HGTV executives want to go the artsy route, I will find something else to watch. I know I will definitely not be watching Design Stars.
