Message Boards

I watch many hours of HGTV each month and have become disturbed by the amount of what appears to be perfectly usable items from rooms being thrown into dumpsters or garbage trucks. Is it possible to make provision to channel usable items (i.e. toilets, doors, cabinets, sinks)to low income charitable organizations for reuse? I particularly am thinking of Habitat for Humanity or some organization like that.

This is the exact reason I registered for the message board! It's time for HGTV and other home improvement networks to start being socially and environmentally responsible. Sure, demolition makes for good programming, but what a more wonderful example for the viewing public to see contractors and clients making a point to donate salvagable cabinets, fixtures and appliances to help organizations like Habitat for Humanity. What an impact this could make! Not to mention keeping all of these materials out of overflowing landfills.
