HGTV used to be one of my favorite channels. I did say used to be
Now they cater to the super rich with shows like Selling New York Selling Los Angeles Selling London Million Dollar Homes Million Dollar Rooms My Favvorite Place
I cannot recall all off the homes that cater to millionaires and billionnaires. While people are struggling daily to pay bills, feed their family, keep a house over their head, you push these extravagant lifestyles in their faces. Do you really think the rich people watch TV or HGTV? Why cater to the rich people innstead of Maybe you should mmake a new channel catering to them and bring back shows that seem to be weeded out by all these other shows. We watch HGTV to see real people living their daily lives. i like the fix up shows and shows of buying and selling houses, except for the millionaires looking for their 2nd homes worth millions. I also hate Property Brothers. i don't care for the used car tactics used to sell people a dump at a price 3 times more than they are worth and their promises of making the home their dream home. Then they redo a couple of rooms and the rest of the house remains a dump which the homeowners will still have to redo but they have already spent every penny and more to fix the part that was doneThis message has been edited. HGTV was one of two channels (PBS is the other) I watched. But I can't take a steady diet of House Hunters and My First Place. The 'Love it or List it' formula is insipid. Homeowner never gets the wish list, is treated paternalistically and portrayed as either petty or stupid. Same is true of 'Property Brothers'. Just not interested in that kind of manipulation.
What happened to new programming by creative types like Candice Olsen and Matt James?
