I have been a fan and I hope a helpful poster for years. It does seem as if HGTV has abandoned its message board fans. If you could show us a modicum of respect, please delete all of the advertising that has been popping up on every thread. Thank you.

I hate to say this, but we're lucky this place is still here. I can live with the advertising if the alternative is them shutting the board down altogether. Discovery/TLC took down its message boards earlier this year. I don't doubt it could happen here too.

Best I can tell Food Network doesn't have a board, and you have to look to find DIY's boards. It wouldn't surprise me if they pull the plug.

If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks.
