This is a message I sent to Hearst Publications today after another request for payment:

I signed for a [B] "FREE trial issue of HGTV Magazine," at http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv-magazine/package/index.html, after which I would subscribe if I decided I liked the magazine. "If you like what you see, you'll get 9 more issues (10 in all) for just $18.00 — that's like getting 5 ISSUES FREE! If you're not satisfied, return the bill marked "cancel" and keep the first issue absolutely free, with no obligation." I have not received the trial issue; therefore, I will not pay for the subscription. I have not received the trial issue; therefore, I will not pay for the subscription.

I will contact HGTV to be sure they are aware that this is how their subscriptions are being handled.
