The premise is so ridiculous that it insults viewers! Why not get the budgets when asking for their wish lists? Oh, I guess the program would not have the discord between the parties.

Love It or List It is an opportunity squandered. Why not have Hillary discuss the plans with the homeowners, make recommendations about how much and how best to spend the money they have, and work within a reasonable timeframe? Why not have David give input about which renovations would improve the resale value? Why not give the homeowners the final say over how their renovation budget is spent? Then renovate the house, shop for homes, Hillary and David can opine over who will love or list and owe each other drinks over who guessed right.

I just don't believe that Hillary is a designer. She makes so many obvious mistakes it gives the public added fuel to the preconception that designers are flighty "artists" instead of business people. This show is such an insult to both its non professional viewers and especially to the design field which HGTV pretends to promote.
