I've been hearing "yuck" from everyone on this but I need to buy new fridge and stove and, yes (!) I love the look of the old harvest gold, avocado and brown appliances. So bored with SSteel, black & wht as the only choices. Any ideas on where I can find these beauties??

Just in passing last week I saw pretty colored appliances at a Sears store.Did not go in we do not need any and yes our appliances are boring white. :^(

Had to read your thread and LOL at you title. Hey if it is the colors you love and want then go for it. From some one that does purple and green. Hehehe

Before they came out with the old color new again colored appliances a few years ago I suggested to some one to get them painted at a car shop. Don't they use baked on enamel on cars?

Well, in my town there is a guy who removes old appliances for free. I'm sure he has what you are looking for.
Just look for such a person.
Advertise in your local paper. Someone in your area probably is dying to get rid of that fridge and stove for the taking.
If you are determined to have that color, have an appliance taken to body shop and have it painted your color.
Oops! Sorry, Shades. I didn't read your post before I answered. Anyway, it is a solution, right?

I am so glad you asked this question. I am moving in to a new apartment and was looking for old vintage units as well. I have actually found some luck on Craigslist.

Believe it or not, alot of those retro colors are back in "vogue" again. JennAir is making a big splash with them. I understand that they are rather expensive but if you like the colors, than I'm sure you wouldn't mind paying for it.

In a few of the magazines I get show retro appliances making a comeback as well like the old stoves and refrigerators....its good stuff.

They're making washers and dryers now in beautiful colors; I hope soon they'll start offering all appliances in an assortment of colors in addition to black, white and stainless steel.
