    On Sunday May 11th Design on a Dime showed their top 35 secrets. They had one about putting a concrete finish/overlay on an existing countertop. i can not find any information on this at all. Please help!!

    I just had this question from a patron at the library. I found a book and video fromo a guy named Fu-Tung Cheng. It's called CONCRETE COUNTER TOPS DIY: The Original Design-and-Build-It-Yourself System. I'm sure you can google and find it if you use the author's name. I don't know, though, if he includes doing it on top of an existing counter top. I hope this helps.

    Fu-Tung is indeed one of the masters of the concrete countertop. However, he specializes more in actually building and pouring a top from scratch.

    I've seen the overlay addressed on the boards before. I didn't see the actual Design on A Dime show - but here is a link to a thread that mentions a product that has been used before on HGTV shows. This is a product that can be used over existing tops as I recall.
