Can you paint over wallpaper

It depends. If the wallpaper is really really stuck on then you can prime the wallpaper and paint. However, if the wallpaper if peeling, then chances are the paint will cause the wallpaper to start to pull away from the wall. If the walls were primed correctly before the wallpaper was put up, then I would suggest taking the wallpaper off.
