I want the Marketing Professionals at HGTV to create more shows along the lines of FreeStyle and Design Remix.

The mass number of people don't have the $25,000 to budget for a room remodel and if they did, they can also afford a designer... What the common man (woman) has is the same house and furniture that they've had forever and need to jazz up their "look" at little or no cost, to make them feel better about going home at the end of the day... and if it looks good, it's "easier" to keep it clean and not let it mess up.

HGTV has got shows for the wealthy... like the Debbie Travis and Kenneth Brown types of shows. But they are not the "designed to sell" homes that appeal to a large number of people.

You seriously should let Aaron Foster and his teams & Karen A. & Joan Steffen, etc. type -----do more of the Reworking space and pulling from other rooms, storage... it's a GREAT IDEA...
And if there is a cost, at the most have only $500 to (realistically) budget a new look for the season or the year. It allows you to think outside the box and really mix your stuff up, even changing function of rooms, - ... Just alot of useful ideas that HGTV should have more shows about! I love the FreeStyle show the most cause it's no cost and there is THREE different shows in a half hour! And ALL of them do attractive redesigns in the same day... and they really look good too... GIVE US MORE of these type shows! MORE! MORE! Aside, I was checking the TV Guide for the next FreeStyle episode, and checked into one of the designers (Tracy) in the next episode and found she has a company called "Use What You Have!" (all one word) That is a Great Idea for a company... and is exactly what I was trying to encourage HGTV to let Aaron, etc. do more shows of FreeStyle, Design Remix or similar shows.

If more people felt as I do, write HGTV -- to support and encourage creating or recording MORE shows like (for) FreeStyle! Thanks for reading (and hopefully being prompted to write HGTV) Debbie Douglas.

    I agree 100%

Its nice to watch those shows from time to time but it can get depressing b/c I dont have 25k to redo a room. I would like creative yet realistic ideas that I can do at home!

I also like those types of shows which is why I became a Redesigner/Home Stager. We specialize in doing just what you're talking about. Taking what someone has and jazzing it up to create a new and wonderful look on a very small budget. There are several websites you can go to in order to find a redesigner in your area. Two I recommend are www.theSDP.com and www.ODDAA.com. It's a lot of fun to go into someone's house and have a "ta da" moment just like the shows.

    Hi,

I have to say that I recently stumbled upon the show FreeStyle and really enjoyed it. I was really impressed with the results that the designers achieved simply by rearranging the items people already had. I really had my doubts about a couple of the 'befores', but the 'afters' were truly amazing.

Hopefully, HGTV will continue to add more shows for us "everyday" folks.

I think the shows are great, but when I look around my house, I don't see a lot of the convenient items they seem to come up with. Maybe I'll call some of my friends over, sometimes a fresh eye can one see things differently the eyes that see it every day. Razz

Dont you think the amount of ** spent on the shows are a little over blown? We watch Hidden Potential all the time and there is no way it can cost $3000 to paint a room Roll Eyes
    I like Freestyle too!
