What do you think of Luminettes with sheers? I know vertical blinds are out but these are made by Hunter douglas and very expensive. They look very elegant.

I had them in my last house and I loved them. I didn't even use sheers, because the luminettes provided as much privacy as we needed, and with a modern decor the sheers would have been too much, I think. But they would certainly work with sheers. I vote yes.

Luminettes are awesome, especially if you have a large window wall with southern or western exposure. I put these in about 7 or 8 years ago in a previous home and would do it again. Just recently, I put in HD's Silhouettes on a series of French doors in my current home.

Only caveat: Luminettes may be vulnerable to tears if you have a kitty with claws.

I am not a fan of vertical blinds at all but I think these are such a nice alternative to the traditional vertical blinds I found a pic of them w/shears here
