So I moved into my new apartment and it's in a horrible state. i can't decide on anything! my windows have traverse type things and I hate them. I'm planning on buying a regular rod and putting those up instead. I'm trying to have my place look lively and cozy (at the same time) but I can't get my colors in order. I need help. So my questions to all of you:
What are good colors that compliment each other?
have any of you heard/tried a miralux bed?
What can I do to get my place together?

P.S. My favorite colors are Pink & sliver but i'm 29 with no children so I don't think those will work!
Thank you,
Natalicious

Wow you have such a strong personality to like pink and silver. You're 29 with no children and ...what's stopping you?

Don't try to do everything at once. Window treatments are costly, you'd better think long about those.

I would start with the bedroom. Paint it a silver gray with the idea of painting the living room a sophisticated pink later. You can use pink as an accent color for the bedroom and silver for the pink living room. You can add black to both spaces.

Go with the colors you love because that will make your apartment feel like your home.

Gray is back as the hot new neutral. Pink and silver are great together. Landlord will likely not allow you to paint, so you will have to pull your color scheme together with fabric, accessories, and accents. If allowed to paint and landlord insists on neutral, go with off white with gray undertones.

Miralux bed? No experience. Here's a link: http://kwikken.com/miralux-bed/123/ Most will tell you to stick with known brands such as Sealy, Simmons or Stearns & Foster.

First, do NOTHING until you calm down and are very sure about what you do want to do. ~smile~ Good decor is costly and making big mistakes is not something most of us can afford to do.

There are several really good designers on HGTV that cover just the issue of color and the use of color in your decorating. Watch them, record and then watch them - save the ones that apply now or maybe later down the road.

For me, I have to find a real "something" that inspires me. I'm getting ready to redo my great room and all because about 6 months ago I found a half done pillow at a garage sale no less with the most beautiful hand done threading in copper, brown, flax and some other neutrals that truly inspire me. I have finished one half of that pillow but plan on using it to cover the back of an antique rocking chair my mother game me to put in that room. It is an elephant in the jungle but that really doesn't describe it at all because it won't be an animal theme or a safari theme or a jungle theme -- nothing that would just come to mind... you'd have to see it. All it really does is totally combine beautiful neutrals in a way I'd have never thought of doing myself. Hence... it inspires me that way. I can't wait to get started but I am going really slow on it (mostly because my husband has an upcoming surgery and things that need to be done first.)

Don't forget to ask a friend -- a very honest friend if you are not going to use a decorator then you need someone to bounce your ideas off of.
