when a topic of interest thread is closed before you've had a say? Confused Happened just now to me under the POP thread. BTW, let's replace "POP" with "SODA". Ex. "Wow, that sofa color SODAS against that wall color!" I think the fizz is gone. Wink Anyway,I was going to add..
SAGE advice regarding SPACES that feature NICE FLOW and CONTINUITY and DESIGN ELEMENTS with a touch of WHIMSY and CHARACTER. My DH's favorite current resale buzz phrases are, "PERFECT FOR ENTERTAINING" and "THAT'S AN EASY FIX". Let's face it, phrases come and go. I am always amazed at how they catch on so readily and how long they remain overused before they are deemed DATED.

Continuing on the subject, I'm already sick of the term GREENalthough I'm in favor of the concept.

Me too Froo. I've been "green" for years, but I'm really tired of hearing the phase.

Another one that bugs the heck out of me is when they "change out", "swap-out", "switch out" something on all these shows. Can't we just "change" something anymore?

Ooooo, I'm with you there, too. The other one that I don't like is 'to edit out'...um when I was a proofreader 'to edit' meant to take out. Drives me nuts.

Oooo, how about 'continue on'??? Like that one? Big Grin

My pet peeve is first-time House Hunters who insist on a stainless steel, granite counter-topped, designer kitchen, 4 bedrooms, an office, a 2-car garage and a pool! Eek

Oh, and it's just the 2 of them and maybe a dog or a cat. Roll Eyes

My pet peeve on the House Hunters show is when someone will say this about a bedroom ...."well it's kind of small". That drives me nuts!

Kinda to new to this section, but I just has to chime in and agree with lavern2 here. When did first time buyers expect so much? It seems alot of these people just want to skip a starter home and go right to the type of home it's taken previous generations time to work up to!

Hey Fille! I haven't posted/read much in this forum either but am enjoying this discussion!

When we bought our first home, we were just happy to GET A HOUSE. I can't imagine the reaction from our family/friends at the time if we had gone around whining about how everything was "a little small", or the kitchen was "dated."

They would have told us to get off our high horse!

And I bet you never once said "it's a little small", didya?

I heard another one tonight that was like nails on the blackboard...and it is so danged late that I drew a blank when I started to post it!
But I'm sure it'll come to me...or I'll hear it on TV tomorrow, whatever it was.

I am sick of hearing "price point" wha??? its the price.. there may be a decimal point in it but nah its just the price.

same with space.. no its a room.. it may be a spacious room or not, but its a room..

yep change out? or edit out.. send them to the department of the redundancy department.

Just saw this thread... What annoys me is when a designer describes a style as a "feel or vibe." For example, "I'm going for a modern feel." "This room has a hip, contemporary vibe."
Why can't they just say,"This is a modern room, or this room has a contemporary style?"
