me and my friend were looking for picture frames at urban outfitters since we like that style... but they were SO expencive!!! does any one no how to make picture frames that would look similar to these but wont take alot of money to make

    P.S.----
urban outfitters is a mix of all kind of style so anything kind of crazy and retro with a drop of the style for the future would fit perfect!

You can purchase inexpensive frames and finish and decorate in any style to mimic more expensive frames. You might want to start your search at the local Dollar Discount and Dollar General Stores. You may find them at a craft store, even unfinished ones, and all the supplies you need for creating your own frames.

I'm going to try and attach a picture of my hallway, but not sure whats involved. But, whenever I go to a yard sale or antique/junk shop I look for interesting frames. I have all shapes, styles and sizes and tie them together by painting them all the same color. They hang empty, except for a few mirrors, on a slate gray wall. They are painted a bronzy-silver color. It's a very dramatic entry and a great way to showcase my frame collection. Not sure what the frames you're talking about look like, but you can definitely embelish these old frames. Ok, can't attach anything, but maybe you get the idea

Good Morning. Just went to visit the site you mentioned. All I could find were simple black frames, and a highly decorated white frame. The prices were great $14 & $20. My hubby is a picture framer, so these prices are a great deal, if you really like them! However I agree you can find great frames at Thrift/Charity stores, paint & embellish them to your own liking and have a real treasure. Often Frame shops will have discounted frames, "mistakes" offered at great prices, at least we do! By mistakes, I mean a piece of molding ordered the wrong size, or a piece may come in with a little ding....that sort of thing. Best of luck to you in your search!
