Is it hot or not to have eclectic metal finishes? Would it look odd if I intentially mixed metal (hardware/lighting fixture) finishes? I hate things being overly matchy so I've been thinking about incorporating different metal finishes as I update hardware & lighting? I'm not saying I would mix oiled bronze and blackened iron (that's like way too simple), but what if I had some items in antique brass and others in nickel and others in blackened iron. What if at some point I put this house up for sale...would buyers be able to 'get it?' I think this could be done in a high end, ecletic way. What do you think???

I can see that to a certain extent in a modern or contemporary home. In an old home it would be heartbreaking. You would also limit your buyer pool.

Well, mine has ended up that way by virtue of evolving styles and tastes over the 23 years in the home...but I'm actually starting to like it, and I agree with you about it being more interesting than everything matchy-matchy. As long as things within a given area coordinate, and it's done tastefully like you said, I think it can work. So I have to respectfully disagree with underthesky.
