Hello everyone,

My wife and I are new home owners and are looking forward to renovating our bathroom. We are having trouble brainstorming ideas for the space we have. It is a small area, and I would like to take out the tub and just replace it with a shower. This is our only bathroom (condo). Any recommendations?

Jesse

We just did that to our master bathroom which is tiny. The shower unit we used was Swanstone which we ordered from a local supply company. We are very happy with the results and no grout lines to worry about.

Are you talking about the master bathroom? Because a shower only would be acceptable there, but might not be so good in a more centrally located bathroom (for resale).

Just saw this. I wonder if you've done anything to the bathroom in the intervening months. If you haven't, please reconsider removing a tub from the bathroom since it's the only bathroom in the condo. It could adversely affect your resale if you decided to sell in the future.

If the condo is designed for a couple rather than a family, I think a higher end shower rather than a tub might actually improve resale if it makes the bathroom more spacious. Since my condo complex also has families and I have two bathrooms rather than one, I elected to keep the tub, but several owners who have 1 bedroom, 1 bath have made a larger shower area and have actually benefited on resale.
