I would like to know which is in style these days, glass doors or shower curtains? I am about to start remodeling my hall bath. Also, since it is a large bathroom, should I put double sinks?

My Vote - glass doors. Shower curtains look dated. The other alternative, since it is a large bathroom, you might consider a seperate large shower enclosure that would not need any shower curtain.

IMHO, I think that double sink vanities are under utilized. I would rather have a single sink and along side of an area that could be used to put on makeup while sitting down.

I think either one is OK but if I had my choice I would probably go for frameless glass doors.

I think if you have room for a double sink it would be a plus to put one in. Even if you don't use both sinks your guests might be able to...or for future sale of the house...folks with kids definitely like double sinks. My one brother and I got ready in the AM at the same time and we each had our own sink so after breakfast we could brush teeth and hair at the same time.

Frameless glass doors are quite nice--make sure you get the extra treatment on the glass so that you don't have to clean as much. Double sinks are nicer than just 1--I never used the makeup area in my bath--but it's what works best for you.

I would take the old track doors over a shower curtain any day! So, definitely the "new" frame-less doors would be the way to go IMHO. If there's space for two sinks, I would do that too. DH wanted to put in a sit-down vanity for me in a closet remodel off the bath. I declined. I stand at the sink to do makeup and hair...always have.

Glass doors. We have a smallish master bath and just switched from a shower curtain to glass doors about a year ago. Love it. Looks more modern, opens up the whole room, and also feels more spacious when you're taking a shower. Lets more light in the shower area, too!

IMHO, Phooey about what's IN!
< we are shower takers. had we remodeled a shower stall, we would have chosen a glass block entry. For our tub/shower combo, I've never regretted having high quality glass (can't remember the specific name for semi no-see-thru) doors.
