Unclog Your Bathroom Sink
Hello Friends,

It's a common occurrence in many homes and is annoying no matter when it happens: A clogged sink can be a pain but knowing how to unclog it yourself is a handy little skill that all homeowners should know (and will eventually put into practice). Generally, a sink clog is caused because of something blocking the trap. The trap is that curved part of the pipe underneath the sink. It is designed to hold water at all times in order to block sewer gases from backing up but because it is a curved shape, things that are going to get lodged will usually get lodged here.

Thanks and Regards

Wow, what incredible insight!

Actually, with a bathroom sink I normally find the clogs to be gunk stuck on the sides of the pipe from the drain to the trap. The traps have been clear when I pulled them apart.

Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance.

My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.
