The pictures of the dreamhome 2013 are looking really nice from the outside. I can hardly wait to see more. The floorplans appear to be very livable and the pool in the deck looks like a really neat option.

The Master Bedroom's door opening directly into the Dining Room/Kitchen is not meritorious of a dream, and more like a cottage setting where one expects limited halls/interior walls.

I will have to check that out, I had not as yet noticed the closeness of the bedroom and the kitchen/dining room.

Good observation TangoW. This is the drawback which TangoW mentioned in his post and this can't be a dream home if someone spending that much.

With the direction of the open concept, halls are pretty much a thing of the past. The open concept is about making the most use of all the space with none wasted. Some people are still more attached to the older cooncept which is fine, but I like the more modern open concept affect.

There are numerous moments of unwanted guest exposure to their bedroom while the host and or others gather, or prepare meals in the kitchen. It's clumsy.
On the plus side for this '13 Dream, though, the bedroom has its own bath.
The footprint of the '13 dream home is modest, and, less imaginative than previous dreams. Angles and nooks promote some of what I like to see.
The '13 dream is cottage style.
And it is high in cost per square foot. The developer sees that as non-issue: The LEED rating helps this picture and the equity areas surrounding are high quality vacation recluse.

This can be an issue with the open concept, but they could close the door if they have company. A larger open concept could cost more to heat and cool, but with all the green options, they are using one of those to keep in context of the LEED rating they are working within.

I am anxious to see more of the inside so we can see how these issue are being dealt with.

Wow! That was cool. I also want to have a house like that. it would be a dream come true.

I can't figure the laundry room being where it is....makes more sense to me to have the pantry directly next to kitchen and access to laundry from hallway AND also kitchen as a secondary thru pantry....when I am cooking I am grabbing things from pantry 90% more than switching a load of laundry...and I can just see my children dropping socks in the pantry taking their stuff to laundry room....anyone else prefer the switch of those two rooms?!?!

I will have to take a closer look.I would agree a pantry next to the kitchen would be handy.

I took time to save the plans to study them on my own computer. I think this is a very LOVELY home!

I remeber when youngsters gave up their room for FAMILY.

I'm gonna put up two clothes lines up in the backyard swamp and then when the tide comes in it will wash my clothes and when the tide goes out they will dry. I won't even need the laundry room and I will have all the tide I need for free to wash my clothes.

I'm going to turn the laundry room into a drying room for alligator hides and snake skins to sell to the tourists for some extra spending money

ROTPPDL(that's plunge pool deck in case you were wondering...) Mr. Bill that is such the solution to my laundry dilemma...to get you to do it FOR me!! And so eco friendly too!!! Just hope I don't reach into the wrong room and grab something you put out to dry in the newly repurposed former laundry room thinking it was pantry staples....

BTW found you a hamper to transport laundry out in undetected....

And maybe you should reconsider the hide business for income!

Hi Trish! Oooh don't mind me...just prefer functional work spaces...and I agree it is a very beautiful home. Just need to get the critter population to cooperated and I suppose I can manage to walk that few extra feet to get my laundry in and out through pantry and kitchen......

I saw a different floor plan earlier on that showed access through laundry room to get to pantry, but now I just googled and see direct access to pantry off kitchen as it should be but laundry room is only accessible through entering kitchen and walking through pantry...not as accessible but guess I could get used to it.....

I only do my laundry when there aren't guests. lol The only problem.....if there's any empty shelves in the pantry, I might fold and place laundry there before getting it back to the rooms. lol

I am waiting. Did Sandy cause problems to DH2013? I keep wondering how so many are making it today, tomorrow, and the upcoming weeks. Do we have HGTV crews dealing with their homes? If so....my t's and p's are with you.

Trish I envision laundry items being dropped along route to and from laundry room...kicked to the side under stove, pantry shelves...lots of spots for missing socks etc!! On up side I can easily run in there while cooking to switch loads...it's the other members of my family coming and going to those spaces I ponder mostly....C'est la dreamhome 2013...right now my laundry is below my kitchen in the basement and I often sprint up and down trying not to burn things...

Tango, we need to get our laundry out of the gararge. I'd prefer it near the kitchen as a separate laundry room. Mine is on a raised area, then you step down into the garage so does not take away any of the garage area, but non-the less, that is where is it.

Our laundry is in a room one enters from the garage, and is a room dedicated to laundry and a utility sink, laundry storage items and household repair tools.
Our water heater, however, is in the garage, two feet distance from the backside of the interior bathroom, allowing immediate hot water there. The heater is located in the garage because it is vulnerable to corrosion here in FL due to the water/PH. The heaters are guaranteed only seven years. They leak/burst unexpectedly.
