Range gHood and backsplash Sign In/Join

We plan to install a back painted glass backsplash and a wall mounted chimney style range hood. I'm having a hard time getting correct information on what gets installed first, and how.

Step 1 is installing the duct w2 is to mark the hood bracket locations on the wall, making sure we have studs or a crosspiece to drill into.
Now I'm stuck. Should the hood be installed and have the glass guys do a template so the glass fits around the hood? Or does the hood get temporarily installed so the glass installers can order the glass with the pilot holes in place?

There is almost no one in my area using this type of backsplash so it's hard to get goos info.

Any ideas?
