What do I need to do with my bathroom walls once the sheet rock is up to install the beadboard/wainscoating chair rail? Is there any prep before this is installed. Has anyone used the new kits that are pre-cut, not real wood but some heavy duty plastic type for bathrooms? Need to know which is best for the bathroom. Thank you

Before you install that stuff from Lowes or Home Depot, check to make sure it's not warped, once it's glue to the wall, it's too late

Good point about warping, we've seen plenty of lumber and trim that is not in good shape, so you do have to pick through to get the best stuff.

I installed beadboard and chair rail in the whole downstairs of a condo a few years ago. I used a pneumatic brad nailer for the whole job and no adhesive. Worked great and looked great.

I have vinyl beadboard /wainscotting in my bathroom. Got it at Home Depot. It's a wonderful thing and it's easy to clean.
