I have a small problem with my granite to make a long story short i had a house built 4 mo. ago and no one ever sealed my granite they are playing the blame game.So now general contractor is sealing it himself well im no expert but it looks worse now than it did.Theres residue everywhere and spots filmy white stuff. My question how do i get this off. And what should i do about the rest of my granite in the house thats needs to be sealed keep in mind the counter tops are already stained from not having them sealed and we have been living here for 4 mo.any suggestions on what to do?

Although things may be different where you live, there should be a one-year warranty on your new home that covers your issues and any others. Your builder should be able to help you with any problems you have. There should be a list of all the particular businesses used for products installed in your home. Go back to the company who installed those countertops originally and talk to them. It also sounds like whoever just sealed them is responsible for proper workmanship and clean-up, and they need to be held accountable for the work done. Keep at it until you get the results you expect. If the granite was damaged with the sealing process, I believe that they would be responsible for reimbursement at the least, and maybe even replacement if necessary. If you are getting the run-around, contact the Better Business Bureau in your area for any help/suggestions they may offer. Again, your builder is the main key to all this, start there and don't give up!
