Someone is painting my cabinets on Tuesday and I'm trying to figure out which brand of paint I should buy. I had read about Cabinet Coat but can't get it locally. However, I can buy the Ace brand of cabinet coat paint. I also have Sherwin Williams and get the proclassic Waterborne or Benjamin Moore. There is also a Home Depot and a Lowes nearby. I just don't which kind to go with- oh and if you can give any primer suggestions as well that would be great! Thanks

Thanks! It looks like I will go with one of last two you mentioned- now, I have to figure out a way to label the doors so that when they're painted I can tell where they go-

I'm guessing you are painting inside and out, otherwise you'd just use masking tape and coordinate the numbers.

I believe I read somewhere that funcolors prefers the Benjamin Moore product for the cabinets. She hangs out in the colors forum. Might ask there. She might also have an idea for you on labeling the cabinets.

I have always found good advice when taking in a cabinet door or drawer to one of the pro-paint stores too. Sherwin Williams, Benjamin Moore or another "paint" store. They offer expert advice on any special prep/priming needs your particular cabinet surface may need. Prep is often the MOST important part of a quality paint project.
I have had great results going with whatever they recommended for the best product for any job too. Several years ago, they recommended a commercially rated, industrial paint for my kitchen cabinets (I wanted to stick with non solvent based paint) and it has held up very well.

When you take the hinges off the cabinet doors, write the door number on the door inside where the hinge would be. Then don't paint over it. It won't show anyway.

I am painting my cabinet doors and I like Behr from Home Depot. It goes on good and doesn't drip and it is easy to clean. I am using a high glass white.

I paint every room with Behr. It is scrubbable.
