Melw365Remodeling
I have a white Formica kitchen, well designed. I want to replace the formica doors with RTC doors. The doors cover the full cabinet There are areas that the Formica shows but it looks similar to the doors in color and feel. I am also going to put in granite counters. My question is, Since I am looking to sell my house do you feel the kitchen With changes look updated not look dated. Am I making an investment that will help the resale value or am I wasting my money and time.

Bob FlemingGuess my brain is not functioning yet today: What is RTC?
Off hand, my guess is that the expense of remodeling will not be regained in the PRICE of the sale, but a kitchen usually sells a home to a woman. So if it looks neat, I'd let it be.
Might be a good idea to ask a realtor in the area; different areas are different!

Chicago StoneproI don't remember what rtc means, either.
The standard platitude regarding using limited funds to increase a home's appeal, is to spend it on the countertops. In my experience, in most cases I've seen, a nice set of countertops really does go a long way in making a marginal kitchen feel/look better.
HOWEVER - there's a big difference between making your space more enjoyable for yourself, and actually increasing the market appeal of your home.
Bob is absolutely correct; if you want advice regarding selling the house faster, with less resistance to your asking price, you need to know your market - you should seek the advice of a trusted real estate agent.
What you are seeking is investment advice, and therefore, my recommendation is to NOT make any kitchen improvements without some competent, local, experienced real estate advice.

justinb11Well, in my own opinion since me and my wife are newly weds and buying a house for us is a huge factor, since kitchen is very important you should redesign it to make it more interesting and eye catching, sometimes it is normal to spend money for you to gain also. And I think granite counters is also such an interesting, since most people I think prefer to have it, and of of those people were me and my wife. But when we bought our kitchen we also did some revisions and one of those was the granite counters, but we contact cumar so that it would be better that experts should do the thing.

suzette123Home remodeling is a fantastic way to add value and enjoyment to your home. Not only do kitchen’s often serve as mission control for most families, they are also one of the first spots scrutinized by value-hunting homebuyers.
