    Help!
I live in a 90 year old house which looking at the floor of the kitchen (looking up from the basement) is hardwood. Someone along the line put a sub floor over it, and then linolium, then tile, then another sub floor, then peel and stick vinyl tiles. I hate the tiles (they peel up, get caught and have broken off many times). I want wood floor and would settle for nice laminate, but it seems stupid to put fake wood floor over a real wood floor just because it is buried under layers of sub floor and tiles. (I have no idea if anything is glued down on the hardwood) Would it be worth stripping it down? Would be a long difficult process or a weekend job?
The other issue is that the floor is obviously not level, there are ridges and sagging in places due to age, so I am afraid to see what is under all these layers. Would laminate help level it out?

Sorry to ask so many questions, just trying to see what would be best. Trying to decide how to spend my rebate check!!

    TIA
