A gel stain might work on the cabinets; you will just have to try. Experiment on the inside of a lower door. Read the painting topic on my website at www.bobf.info. Paint a fridge with a brush? I wouldn'y even consider it, and I have a LOT of painting experience. If you really need a new color, have it done by a paint shop that advertises appliance painting. They will usually pick up and deliver.

You did not say how old your refrigerator is or what kind of surface it has. I painted one once and it turned out beautiful. LOL on the other hand it was one of those ancient refrigerators that had the rounded top and smooth surface and had yellowed horribly. I just used white enamel and a regular paint brush. The fridge was so small that it only took one small can of paint. lol
