I am buying a condo with a washer/dryer closet in the kitchen.

Should I have something under the washer in case of a water leak? I remember seeing one in another condo I looked at - the washer was in an upstairs utility room.

They make washer pans, but they are usually connected to a drain. If no drain, they would be useless.
