Two years ago we installed, in a new construction home, Price Pfister brushed nickle faucets in all the bathrooms. After six months we noticed small black spots on the finish and since then they have grown larger and seem to be corroding throught he finish. We have used mild detergent soap and later polish but to no avail. We have a well system with a water softner, if this is pertinent. Is this a manufactuer's defect or a water chemistry problem? Which finish is most resistant if it is the water?

Contact PP about this. Some of their finishes are guaranteed for life.

I agree with Bob, my PP hardware has a great warranty that covers replacement.
Have you tried Lime Away hard water/calcium remover to clean it? Also, I have used brasso on similar metal and it took away all the stains.
You may want to try this on a hidden area of the faucet as it might not work on that particular finish....but try to see of PP will replace or offer any other advice.

Thanks to you both Bob and ElonaT. I called PP and spoke with a customer rep. He gave me a ref. # and I sent two pics. of each faucet and the instruction booklet cover, as proof of purchase, and they fully honored the warranty. Got full replacements in a week. FYI keep booklet for each item as proof of purchase.
