Ideas for backyard where this hill is?? Sign In/Join

Hello, we moved in this house and the backyard is a mess! Any ideas on an inexpensive fix? I was thinking sod or something until we can really do what we want in a couple years. The part where the hill is I would like to level out, but that's not going to happen right now. We took out 3 huge pine trees so the trunks are still there. That would take way to much time and money to dig them out now. Somebody mentioned a retaining wall around that area then maybe putting flowers or something. Any ideas would be great. I can't see a vision now. Thank you!

Since you are "central" Ca....what type of weather do you have? San Fran type? That would help folks make suggestions. If you were southern I'd suggest a desert landscape...no water needed and no grass to mow.
