I just received my order from 4 Seasons Nurseries. I had ordered a tree bargain, it was suppose to have 6 different trees in there and instead I found 6 Siberean Elms so I googled Siberean Elms and I'm even wondering if I want to put them in the ground I'm considering sending them back. Due to they supposedly have seeds that when the wind blows it can cause you to have them popping up all over the yard and that is not what I want at all. What does anyone know about these trees?

Well, they're quick growing, soft-wooded with little branches frequently littering the yard...on the pro side, the do have a nice green leaf...if you need fast shade, well they are fast but plant a couple of hardwooded trees for longevity.

rosepetals since your from my neck of the woods also, what would you recommend? I don't know a thing about trees I can't tell whats what. We have a bunch of mulberry trees I want gone completely for obvious reasons. So we need something to replace them.

hiya cndlou3, trees that I love and seem to do well in our area are Maple 'Autumn Fantasy', Linden 'Greenspire', Dawn Redwood(the yellow foliage cultivar is to die for), many species of Oaks with Red Oak as slightly faster growing species-but I would avoid Pin Oak-they just seem to go chloratic in our limey soils..river birch do well but not so much the whitebarked varieties. Evergreen conifers I would include white pines and spruces..hth Smile

PS I had to add, I understand your wanting to get the mulberries outta there... Wink

Siberean Elms are on the list of the least wanted trees in the USA. An alien species that is invasive in some places.

The sign of a good gardener is not a green thumb, it is brown knees.

Yep, seedlings pop up everywhere ... in your yard, your neighbor's yard, etc.
