Most home owners never think about having their trees looked at or even pay much attention to them but do keep in mind that trees are like anything else. They can become sick or diseased and can pose a major threat to your home. Please take a quick look at this site to see what small steps you can take to be sure your trees are healthy. here is the site below--> www.atlanta-area-tree-service.com

The OP MIGHT get some business out of his post, but I doubt it. HGTV doesn't seem to care see that this post http://boards.hgtv.com/eve/for...1086423/m/4023971267 has been up on the Green Home board for several days now. Like their programming I suspect they don't really put much effort into the website any more. General Disclaimer Any advice given here is general in nature and is not necessarily valid for your given area. If in doubt check with your local codes enforcement department for what is required when doing electrical, plumbing or structural work on your house. Permits may or may not be required in your area and home owners may not be able to DIY some tasks. I have no way of knowing if you have the skills needed to complete the tasks you are asking about, when in doubt seek professional assistance. My advice may be worth exactly what you pay me for it. :-) For the record I did not stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

I think you're so right, Sparky. It used to be that if we reported a post, it was dealt with...not any more. ~~~~~~~~~~~~ "I've decided to quit my job, drop out of society, and wear live animals as hats."

OK, it's advertising. OK, HGTV doesn't care (about much anymore) At least the OP does make a good point. Last year when we were hit with a major Oct. snowstorm, live trees were downed because of the weight of the snow on the leaves. And the number of dead trees was even more amazing. While I'm not calling a tree service in GA for a NJ tree, it's got me thinking. More than most advertising posts do.

I'm with you Jaysmom. The one on the green home board is pretty blatant. This one could be considered informative because like you, even though I'm closer to Atlanta by hundreds of miles I'm still not going to call a tree place in Atlanta to handle my trees.
