    Hi
Most of the raised bed garden designs I've seen use wood. If I'm going to build this I'd like it to last. I'd realy like to stick with stone or concrete blocks/interlock blocks, etc.
I have a bad knee - so an ideal design would let me sit on the edge to weed - plant - etc.
About 2.5 to 3 feet tall.
I need to know info on the following.
    1) Footing Depth - New England - CT.
    2) Liner - like on retaining walls?
    3) Bracing methods?
    4) Corners - techniques for making them strong
    5) Drainage material - types, how much
    6) Material suggestions.
URLs -Books - Resources would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

Sounds ideally what you should do is pay a visit to your local stone dealer.
There, they have oodles of guides and pamphlets describing how to do projects using the products they sell.
This need not be a selling job....they expect, of course, you might wish to buy some of their products....stones, gravel, tamping machines, bricks, rocks, and other assorted items you might wish to make your wall of.
But the guides they have explains all about how walls are built, how stone patios are laid and so on and so forth.

Many of these guides are published by the stone dealers and come in pretty pictures of many sites which have used their products.
Most --and it gripes me on that score--show large estates, swimming pools and mile long walls that look awfully nice.
But that's the idea isn't it...to show how good looks of a wall can be made.

Here's a few sites for you. The last one outlines what is needed to make a stone raised bed.
