My husband and I have done a lot of projects, but we are struggling with the "right/best" way to attach our colonial spindles to the decorative handrail... the spindles do not have dowels, and the handrail doesn't have fillets like indoor handrails. We don't think screwing through the top of the handrail makes sense. Which leads me to believe that we must need to screw from the underside at an angle... Is that correct, or what would be your suggestion? Any assistance is MUCH appreciated! I don't want to NOT use the spindles or handrail- we spent more for a nicer look than just a 2x4 handrail and basic balusters, but we are stumped how to attach them so they are effective as a railing system!!
