I posted this in General Decorating, where I usually hang out, but maybe the subject fits better here?
DH caulked around the new door early this morning, apparently too early - I went to see how long before I could paint it, and right there in the application directions it says DO NOT PAINT. Question 1: Is there anything we can do other than scraping it off so we can paint the trim? Question 2: If we have to scrape it off, would it be best to do it right away, with rain predicted this afternoon, or wait 'til after it rains and the caulk cures? -Turtle / Bec http://turtlefries.shutterfly.com/ ...But maybe if we are surrounded in beauty Someday we will become what we see... ..................- Jewel Kilcher.... |

It is probably silicone based, and I sure would attempt removal right away. Get all you can off by pulling and scraping. You may be able to cover any residue left, with a good exterior paintable caulking?
