I am designing a deck and I would like to use composite decking because of the ease of upkeep, but all of the composite decking that I have found has a fake woodgrain finish. I don't like the fake wood grain at all and I would like to have it be flat or, at the very least, I would like it to have some uniform, non-wood, finish. Any suggestions?
Also, Does anyone recommend a brand that is pretty resistant to stains and molding?
Thank y'all in advance!
If you object to the fake wood grain, why not object to the fake wood altogether? Have you looked into ipe?
This is actually exactly what I am looking for:
I'm not sure that it is done in the US though.
I'm not as opposed to texture, I just don't like the fake wood texture.
Thank you for all of your input.
If anyone does know of a US manufacturer, please let me know. Shipping from this UK producer to Atlanta, GA will probably be pretty expensive. This message has been edited. Last edited by: HGTVAdmin,
Do you really need suggestions? Go buy composite decking at any home improvement center. When you get it home, flip the planks over. Almost all of them only have the wood grain finish on one side. The side they intend to be the bottom is usually perfectly smooth.
