    Hi

I was wondering if anyone knows if there are any really good books/plans on an outdoor bar/kitchen, kinda like something you see at resorts by the pool.

My vision is a large center area for grilling that holds a sink, built in tap, with a bar counter top around the whole thing, just like at a resort.

Ive copied pictures online of pool bars/restaurants for ideas, but nothing with details or plans.

Does such plans exist without a architect/designer.

Most books I see are not what Im looking for...I really want a pool bar/restaurant feel.

Any Leads would be great...otherwise I'm gonna have to get creative with all this pictures Ive saved.

I yet to find an adequate book on outdoor kitchens. I've had better luck on the net.

I had to 'cut & paste' my plans. I have the grill (of course!), side burners, sink, 3 cooling bins and prep area. It is shaped like a C, with the prep area inside the C at counter height and surrounded by a bar at bar height. We didn't put in a fridge due to our extremely high temps (I live in the desert).
I sketched the layout on paper first, with the finished size of the whole area. Then I combined plans I found in the books (I think they are Sunset books) at Home Depot and Lowes. I also went to the BBQ Galore and got copies of their plans. When I thought I had it done, I went to Home Depot with my plans and found a guy that actually knew what he was talking about to help me finish the materials list and answer a few questions about electricity, water, and gas lines. The rest was relatively easy - concrete block and mortar.

Another idea is to get bids from the landscaping companies. These should be free and they should leave you the layout of their proposals. This will give you an idea of what items/appliances can be close together to save on running longer lines (water, power, gas). You still won't have detailed instructions or materials list, but you can 'cut & paste' from the plans in the books.
Make sure you wear gloves and have lots of hand lotion - the concrete really dries out your hands!
