I just recently got new furniture that I ordered from a catalog. The couch and loveseat are a lot lower than I realized so things are off for me. The furniture is where it has to be in the room, so is the clock and the large picture above the couch. I would like ideas on what I could put maybe behind the table with the lamp that would be higher and maybe fill that corner in a little bit. I feel like it's empty and needs a little something. Maybe a large floor vase with a large, high flower arrangement thing of some sort? I'm open to anything, just can't move the furniture, the clock or the large picture. I can move them around on their walls, but no other place in the room. Any help is greatly appreciated!

I'm having a hard time figuring out how to attaach a picture.....it's not letting me "browse" for it. Help?!

Can't see your pictures yet, but you mentioned that your couch and loveseat are a lot lower than you wanted....what sort of legs are on the furniture....can they be changed or added too to make them taller? Rollers on the bottom would work but not sure you want rollers on a sofa/loveseat.

Open up your picture file. They should be located in a program such as "My Pictures". Try double clicking on the picture itself when you use the browse button and the file name will appear in browse box. Then type jpg for the type of file.

May, my couch and loveseat are up off the floor on legs. I haven't measured them, but they're probably 3-in legs or so, so not sure taller would look good.

Still tryin, I know where my pictures are on my computer. It's trying to access them from the box given to me by this website when I click on Add Attachment. There's a box that says File Source, then Browse, then another box that says File Description. I know how to click on the Browse button and go find my pictures, but the problem is that when I click on the Browse button nothing happens. Not sure why....

That was weird. No idea why all of the sudden it decided to "let" me browse for my picture. Glad I tried again! Here it is.

Pts79, this entire message board is weird right now. Since the techs "fixed" something a few days ago there are several things that don't work.

You've made many great choices for this room and you have a very nice color scheme but IMO the lamps are too small in scale. They need to be chunkier and taller and will then fill that corner well. Everything else is a good scale for the size of the room except the lamps (and maybe the tables altho I'm not sure of them).

I know you didn't ask and may not want opinions but I'd add a touch of that deep red from the art in an accessory somewhere.

Thanks for the ideas, Lucky! I forgot to mention that I have a large ottoman coming that is mostly red, so we're thinking alike!

As far as the lamps and tables go, they are also brand new, so can't change them. We first tried a taller lamp, at least by the recliner, but my husband sits there and reads a lot and found it harder to read with a taller one, so we went shorter.

I was wondering about some kind of wall art that could go in that corner to take up some space, maybe a big flower stencil or something, a big vase with a flower(s), a small grouping of picture frames or something? Just something to make it level out a little?

(Glad to hear my inability to get the picture uploaded wasn't just me!)

I wouldn't add anything to the corner but an ommphier lamp. Bigger, bulkier, and taller.

Oops, just saw you aren't going to replace them. But, they don't have to match. Just coordinate.

How about putting your lamps on a couple of books to make them taller? Just to see what it looks like. I think when you get your ottoman in place it will look nice....nothing on the wall in the corner, please... I think what you are seeing is the fact that your husband's recliner is bigger and bulkier than your couch set. Men love their big chairs, right? Just work around it, maybe a pretty throw over the back in a red color you are using, magazine rack, or plant on the floor by it. I really like your room.

Consider a potted tree or lush plant on a pedistal w/ up light for the corner. This space could stand a vertical element. I also agree that larger, taller lamps would be more in scale to this space.

Could the love seat be centered under the clock?

I think the lack of balance seems awkward.

Great looking sofa set. Is both tables the same height? Looks like the one by the chair is larger.

As grapefruit said, is there any way you can move the love seat over some? Have you tried the lounger part on the other side and the love seat in the area the lounger was? It's the furniture layout that is off to me. No matter what you add in that corner, it is still going to look off. Can you post a pic of the other sides of your room?

Upon second look, I feel that all your furniture appears to be lined up like soldiers along your walls and the easy chair in the far right is out of place w/ your sleek sectional sofa and love seat. Bring something out into your room if possibleor angle something. Of course this is only one corner of your room, but I hope you also have a tall piece of furniture to break up the continuous horizontal line and to call attention to the high ceiling.

Add a red throw/few more toss pillows in red (or whtever the red color is in the painting.
