I was going for classy and end up with blah. BUT the worst part is the greyish color bled under the tape. The thought of retaping this makes me mad. I think the grey bled because it had glaze in it..,.I don't know. I've thought about gluing ribbon over the edges???? I can't spend much more. ![]()

CER, So sorry you had problems, BUT it looks great in the photo! What a look! WOW! Your avatar being a 'tough guy' really gets scary when LARGE! LOL I don't have any solution except somehow having to neaten up the lines. Someone will chime in I am sure with some good suggestions. I don't mind the color of it, I like it actually. I think all you need is a nice silver framed print on that wall. As for the bleeding. If you don't want to redo it, I would suggest getting a yard stick and going over the line with a marker. You can get them in silver but you could even do it in black or how about red or blue (any color really). It would add a little more pizzaz to the walls. ****Look at objects not only for what they are, but for what they could be, vg****

It looks good in the picture, but Victorian Girl's idea of using a marker or paint pen could work to neaten it up.

Can you touch it up yourself without taping? Do you have a steady hand and a straight-edge? Of course, there is a risk that you could see the brush strokes unless you repaint the entire stripe. Hate when things like this happen.

The only thing I found with markers (if you use them to straighten the lines, is you need to get the paint kind. The ink type can leave a blue residue or that Sharpie blue/black color we all know. In my mural, I had problems with edges... LOTS of edges and I went and got the Prismacolor art markers in my dark brown and off white colors. They have a flat edge for more coverage and then a thin point on the other side of the marker. Get a couple because they can run out in the middle of a line. Also, I found that one coat of polyurethane made my work more flat, meaning where one paint ended and the other started, it would mound slightly and change the sheen. A top coat of poly evened out the whole wall. This only works if you want both colors the same sheen. Photo of my wall mural project. I applied the brown over the wall color. CER, I've seen a couple of avatars that have gotten a bit unwieldy lately. Since the website and messageboards have had an overhaul lately, I can guess that someone forgot to code in the automatic resizing of avatar pics.

Thank you mamaspoon. IT was very gutsy of me to do in Yorktown Virginia! The builder my DH worked for was the largest builder and they did ONLY Colonial style. When I did this, what I called restrained mural, which is Henri Rousseau inspired copied from Donghia fabric print. I copied the way Donghia did their fabric print, their background was on coral color. The people DH worked with thought it was 'wild' and too brave! It took a while but soon people were letting loose with more creative designs in the model homes. This message has been edited.
